VC Rowing Banquet
In celebration of Vancouver College Rowing Program’s 35th anniversary in our school’s centenary year, our rowing parents are organizing a special banquet on the 1st of April at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club. This Banquet is being held the evening of the annual College-Saints Boat Race as a continuation of our celebration with families, alumni, and friends.
We invite you to join us for this special fundraiser in support of our student-athletes and growing program. Our Rowing Program has relied and continues to rely on parent volunteers and donations to support our student-athletes and build on the program’s success. Proceeds raised from the VC Rowing Banquet fundraiser will help purchase much needed equipment, refurbish existing equipment, and maintain the VC Rowing Compound in False Creek.
Ticket prices are $150 each or tables of 10 are available for $1500 with an early bird price offered at $1250 until February 28 only. The evening includes a cocktail reception, silent auction, live auction, three-course dinner, and music to dance the night away. Tickets can be purchased HERE.
Your support will help continue our Rowing Program’s legacy of success. In 35 years, we have witnessed student-athletes achieve personal excellence in their endeavours, both as athletes and as better men, through commitment, dedication, and determination. Our alumni rowers contribute to their community in various ways and numerous Irish rowers have gone on to compete for universities, as well as represented Team Canada at both the World Championships and the Olympic Games.
Vancouver College consistently ranks in the top three high school rowing programs in Canada. The team trains six days a week, rain or shine, at the school and on water. The team races in regattas in BC, the US and Ontario throughout the school year with a final goal of competing at the Canadian Senior Secondary Rowing Association (CSSRA) National Championship Regatta in June.
Thank you on behalf of our over 50 highly dedicated student-athletes from Grades 8 to 12 and our incredible group of volunteer coaches who train and support these athletes! We look forward to celebrating with you on the 1st of April and continuing the legacy of excellence that is the Vancouver College Rowing Program.
