Faith in Action
To Stand in Solidarity with Those Marginalized by Poverty and Injustice.
There are many ways in which Vancouver College students are "always faithful" to the call to put their faith in action. In addition to the yearly Religious Education requirement of a Christian Service Project appropriate to each boy's gifts and development, the Faith in Action immersion program invites students to positively impact marginalized communities by getting involved and making a difference in places near and far. Numerous school-wide activities take place each year to fundraise and increase awareness to assist local and international charities such as the Covenant House, Missions of Charity, and Door is Open. The hope is that the students learn to challenge the prevailing ethos of materialism and become men for others, just as Blessed Edmund Rice was.
Everyone should experience this - we are blessed to be able to learn so much from the people in Peru. Through their eyes, they teach us valuable lessons, including appreciating what you have and what’s important in life.
