Vancouver College and Little Flower Academy are proud to present: Little Shop of Horrors

One of the most beloved musicals of all time is capturing audiences in a whole new way! Based on the 1960 film, Little Shop of Horrors, has been entertaining theatergoers for decades with its catchy tunes and unforgettable characters. This smash-hit musical has enjoyed countless productions, including a successful Broadway revival, and continues to be a favourite for performers and audiences alike.

Set in a struggling flower shop on Skid Row, the story follows Seymour, a meek and down-on-his-luck shop assistant, who discovers a mysterious - and very hungry - plant. As Audrey II grows, so does Seymour’s fame and fortune, but at a chilling cost. Filled with 1960s-inspired music, Little Shop of Horrors delivers non-stop entertainment with humour, heart, and a touch of horror.

Whether it’s the soulful harmonies of the street-smart Urchins or the unforgettable power of Audrey II, this production promises an electrifying theatrical experience.

Mary Poppins

Vancouver College and Little Flower Academy brought the magic of Mary Poppins to life!

The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that "Anything can happen if you let it."

We are incredibly proud of the cast and crew for their outstanding performances and thank everyone who attended for supporting the show!

CLUE!

Vancouver College and Little Flower Academy brought the classic board game to life on April 2023!

It’s a dark and stormy night, and you’ve been invited to a very unusual dinner party. Each of the guests has an alias, the butler offers a variety of weapons, and the host is, well... dead. So whodunnit? Join the iconic oddballs known as Scarlet, Plum, White, Green, Peacock, and Mustard as they race to find the murderer in Boddy Manor before the body count stacks up. Based on the cult classic film and the popular board game, Clue is a madcap comedy that will keep you guessing until the final twist.

We are proud of the cast and crew for their outstanding performance and thank you to all who attended to support the show!

Footloose

Little Flower Academy and Vancouver College collaborate to produce the explosive movie musical live on stage on April 2022. Footloose the Musical celebrates the exhilaration of youth, the wisdom of listening to one another, and the power of forgiveness.

Moving in from Chicago, the newbie Ren McCormack (Ryder Clarke) is shocked when he discovers the small Midwestern town he now calls home has made dancing and rock music illegal. Ren faces an uphill battle to change things as he struggles to fit in. With the help of his new friend, Willard Hewitt (Colm Kent), and defiant teen Ariel Moore (Annika Ferronato), he might loosen up this conservative town. But Ariel's influential father, Reverend Shaw Moore (Wesley Xiao), stands in the way.

Murder at the Mulberry Mansion

Our 2021 Theatre Production is here! This year, VC's Main Stage Play was written by our Theatre Company 11/12 class, who used "Devised Theatre" to create their own unique story.

Devised Theatre is theatre that begins without a script. The script gets “written” as the rehearsal process takes place through a series of improvisations and collaborations. Over time, a play emerges, one covered with the fingerprints of each and every participant.

We are very proud of our students who were able to create and perform a play during this unprecedented school year. This is a very funny, original play and we invite all in our community to watch! Please click on the attached link to access the show and support our theatre program!

The Outsiders

The VC/LFA production of The Outsiders was scheduled to take the VC stage on April 22-25, 2020. Due to the unfortunate events surrounding COVID-19, the cast and crews were unable to present this inspiring production. Both  the cast and crews had worked diligently on this play from December 2019 - March 2020. We would like to thank everyone involved for their dedication and continued support of our theatre program.

Proudly presented by Vancouver College and Little Flower Academy Crazy for You is...

A riotously entertaining and spectacular, all-singing, all-dancing tap-tastic show, CRAZY FOR YOU uncorks the American musical's classic blend of music, laughter, dancing, sentiment, and showmanship with a freshness and confidence rarely seen on stage! The Tony Award-winning CRAZY FOR YOU scrapes away decades of modern musical theatre façade to reclaim the George and Ira Gershwin standards in all their glorious splendor.

With timeless classics like "I've Got Rhythm", "Someone to Watch Over Me", and "Nice Work If You Can Get It", this production shines like sequins on a Ziegfeld Girl! This Gershwin extravaganza is filled with song, dance, and hilarious dialogue. The audience will be swept up in an artfully constructed tale of boy meeting girl in the Wild West and on the Broadway stage.
