Hall of Honour 2026 - Nominations Now Open

Honouring those who bring distinction to Vancouver College through excellence, service, and character.

Vancouver College's Hall of Honour began in 1986 with the launch of the Emerald Awards Dinner and Ceremony. From 1986 to 1993, the school and the Vancouver College Alumni Association annually recognized one outstanding alumnus. For reasons unknown, the Emerald Awards Dinner concluded in 1993.

In 2000, the school revived the tradition of alumni recognition by establishing the Vancouver College Sports Hall of Fame, celebrating outstanding athletes and teams for their accomplishments. In 2005, the scope of the awards was expanded beyond athletics to include a broader range of endeavours. The Vancouver College Hall of Honour was created, incorporating all previous Emerald Award recipients and Sports Hall of Fame inductees.

Since 1986, 76 individuals and teams have been recognized for their exceptional achievements and contributions. Click here to see the list of distinguished group of men who embody the values and ideals upon which Vancouver College was founded – Faith, service, and excellence.

The Vancouver College Hall of Honour recognizes individuals whose lives and achievements reflect the ideals upon which Vancouver College was founded: faith, excellence, and community leadership. Honourees inspire our students and community by serving as role models, helping students connect with the past and become aware of their future potential.

Who Can Be Nominated?

We welcome nominations in two categories:

  • Individual Nominees: Alumni or individuals who have made a significant contribution to Vancouver College or achieved excellence in their professional or personal lives.
  • Team Nominees: Vancouver College teams recognized at the Provincial, National, or International level for competitive excellence and embodiment of the school’s values.
  • Eligibility Requirement: Nominees must be alumni or individuals who have made a significant contribution to the Vancouver College community. A minimum of five years must have passed since graduation or the conclusion of their service to the school.

Nomination Timeline

  • Nominations Open: January 2026
  • Deadline for Submission: March 31, 2026
  • Inductees Announced: August 2026
  • Induction Ceremony: Homecoming Weekend, September 12, 2026

How to Submit a Nomination

1.  Complete the Hall of Honour 2026 Nomination Form [Link].

2.  Submit any optional supporting documents (up to 4–5 pages) via email to kmcilhenney@vancouvercollege.ca.

3.  Nominations are confidential and will be reviewed by the Hall of Honour Selection Committee.

4.  Past nominations remain on file and are eligible for future consideration.

  • If you wish to update a previous nomination with new achievements, supporting documents, or contact information, please email any updates to kmcilhenney@vancouvercollege.ca with the subject line: “Update – HOH Nomination for [Nominee Name]”.
