Parents

Vancouver College parents are our most valuable partners in helping our boys succeed. We work together as a faith and learning community to support and enrich the boys’ educational experience. The goal is for all parents and guardians to be as active as possible in their son's education.

As the boys create lifelong friendships, so do our parents. The Vancouver College Parents’ Association (VCPA) includes all parents and guardians of current students. With the support of the school, the VCPA facilitates community-building events that raise funds for the school and coordinates parent engagement initiatives. The VCPA creates volunteer opportunities through these events that bring parents together and build community connections. For more questions about the VCPA please contact vcpa@vancouvercollege.ca.

Events and Activities

FINNEGAN BALL

At this annual signature gala, traditionally held in November, parents, staff, alumni, and volunteers celebrate and support our community through the ever-anticipated live auction, silent auction, treasure raffle, gourmet dinner and live DJ. It is Vancouver College’s largest fundraiser organized by our parent volunteers.

Thank you to everyone who attended, participated, and contributed to the success of this year's Venetian Masquerade-themed event. Your generosity and support help make a lasting impact on our students and programs.

MOTHERS CHRISTMAS TEA

The Mothers Christmas Tea is a cherished annual tradition where our community gathers to celebrate the season. Held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, in the Lannan Hall Gymnasium, this festive indoor market featured fresh pastries, savoury treats, flowers, homemade crafts, and a silent auction to help guests prepare for the holidays. Moms, grandmas, and alumni moms also enjoyed a special tea, making it a truly memorable occasion.

Thank you to everyone who attended, participated, and contributed to the success of this year’s event. Your support helps strengthen our community and keeps this tradition alive.

ParentTALKS

ParentTALKS is an educational program that further supports our boys for a life dedicated to achievement, leadership, and service to the Church and community. Although each ParentTALKS is different, the shared goal of TALKS is to identify the issues, educate on the theory or point of view, and give practical suggestions to assist in parenting. The TALKS help provide a forum for ideas and open discussions. In addition, the TALKS gather parents to support each other in the journey of bringing up fine young men.

We are always open to hearing about great presenters, topics of interest, and ideas for future ParentTALKS. Please feel free to send your recommendations to  vcparent-talk@vancouvercollege.ca.

Learn more about our TALKS here.

SAFE STREETS

Safe Streets ensures the safe drop-off and pickup of our students. The team consists of parent leaders who are empowered to make a positive difference to the safety of our children during arrival and pickup and will dedicate themselves to between 5 and 25 safe street shifts each year.

If you are interested in joining the Safe Streets Team, please register in OnVolunteers and for the shifts and training you choose.
